What is BVN?

It is a specific code used to confirm that a bank account is yours. Similar to a security number, the BVN allows banks and other financial organizations to recognize a person by their bank account information. This distinct 11-digit number will be given to you at the time of your biometric registration.

What is Biometric Registration?

The term "biometric registration" describes the process of identifying a person using their physiological characteristics, such as their voice, fingerprints, or facial traits.

What's the need for BVN?

In response to the growing breach of sensitive customer information such as PINs and passwords, as well as the difficulties banks encounter in managing their identities, the Central Bank of Nigeria [CBN] and all Nigerian banks jointly introduced the Bank Verification Number [BVN], a centralized biometric identification system, on the 14th of February, 2014 and the BVN has been used to identify customers ever since. However, a lot of people have trouble getting their BVN and using financial services because they lose them or don't save them but fortunately, you can get your BVN without going to any bank. Without risking your security, you can use your phone to check your BVN number from anywhere. After that, you can store it for later use.
